The Young Gods

Zeg je ‘Metropolis festival 1992’ en generatiegenoten noemen 2 namen: The Smashing Pumpkins én The Young Gods. Beide bands, aan het begin van hun carrière, maakten toen een onvergetelijke indruk. Ruim 30 jaar later haalt Wavefest The Young Gods terug naar Rotterdam voor een exclusieve Nederlandse show in Baroeg: ‘The Young Gods play Terry Riley in C’. Dit beroemde stuk van de Amerikaanse componist Terry Riley, geschreven in 1964, bestaat uit 53 korte genummerde muzikale stukken en wordt gezien als de eerste minimalistische compositie. Vorige jaar bracht The Young Gods een documentaire én het album ‘The Young Gods play Terry Riley In C’ uit. De daaropvolgende tour speelde de band het gehele album integraal én enkele van hun grootste hits. Ditmaal doet de band nog een aantal van deze exclusieve shows in Europa waaronder dus de enige op Nederlandse bodem in Rotterdam!

Noire Antidote

Bij een bijzondere show hoort natuurlijk een bijzondere support, dat is Noire Antidote zeker! De donkere soundscapes van Benjamin Sch worden deze show bijgestaan door een live drummer. Waar Noire Antidote normaal gesproken al indringend en opzwepend is zal de toevoeging van een live drummer nog meer impact geven aan de set die gepland staat voor deze zondag.
